Dear Governor Riley

Jug Twitty's letter

To Governor Bob Riley and Legislature of Alabama
State Capitol
600 Dexter Avenue
Montgomery, Alabama 36130

Dear Governor Riley,

Our family is thankful for all the support of our elected officials as we continue our search for a resolution in the disappearance case of our beloved daughter, Natalee. And we can understand the legislature's efforts to help by offering a resolution to boycott any travel to Aruba. However, we believe this action could severely harm our relationship with the people of Aruba, who have done so much to assist us in our efforts to find the truth behind her disappearance.

Aruba has provided housing; volunteers through their Red Cross; supported nationwide searches; and treated us with reverence and respect. This resolution would allow some factions to drive a wedge between our new friends and those who want us off the island.

In fact, support for our efforts extends to the office of the Prime Minister and the country's tourism and hotel industry. The FBI now has access to files on the case, prompted by Prime Minister Nelson Oduber's demands for transparency.

Aruba and its people should not be harmed for the actions of others over which they had no control. This boycott could bring severe economic repercussions to the people dedicated to helping us through these trying times.

Sincerely,

George 'Jug' Twitty
