Jug Twitty pleads for no boycott

August 10, 2005

In an emotionally charged letter to the governor of Alabama Jug Twitty, step father to missing teen Natalee Holloway, writes asking the governor to reconsider their stance on calling for a boycott of Aruba. Many have been very critical of Jug's behavior in the past months but in this he seems to have done an about face with a heartfelt plea showing his true concern for the people of Aruba.

In dealing with Aruban authorities he has been so quick to criticize them, but here he only seems concerned about the average ordinary citizens of Aruba that have helped him, his wife and all of their family and friends while they search for Natalee. He believes a boycott would only hurt the innocent people of Aruba. This seems to be quite a contrast to the blustery Jug Twitty who has been critical it seems, of almost everything the Aruban authorities have been doing since day one.

This was quite an impressive letter that Jug would write. Jug would often be in an a very difficult position, being the step father to Natalee, but still pretty much in the center of the investigation. He would often be criticized do to what appeared to be a rather short fuse and perhaps an aggressive manner. This letter would go aways to raise his credibility as sincerely trying to keep the channels of cooperation open between the Aruban authorities and Natalee's family.
