Permalink Chapter: four

Who was in the Posse?

Natalee's mother Beth Twitty accompanied by her then husband, George "Jug," Twitty would arrive on the island of Aruba the night of May 31st with friends, on a private jet. Within four hours after their arrival they would make up a group that hence would be referred to as the "posse."

It has been stated, although not confirmed, that this Alabama posse, which descended on the van der Sloot home that night consisted of the following individuals: Jug and Beth Twitty, Charles Croes, G. Ruffner Page Jr., Alberto and Claudio the handlers, Jody Bearman, Paul Lilly, Eric Williams the D.E.A. agent, 3 friends, a kid who knows Charles Croes, a kid who knows Joran van der Sloot and 2 Aruban policemen.

The posse will insist to Paul van der Sloot that Joran was indeed with this girl and they must find Joran immediately to confront him about Natalee's whereabouts. Paul calls Joran on his cell phone and explains the situation as he understands it to be.

Joran's recollection of that phone call

as told to Greta van Susteren, Fox On the Record, an unedited interview, March 1,2 and 3 2006.

Greta van Susteren is the interviewer.

Interviewer:
So you get the phone call from your father. Were you at the table when you got the call?

Joran van der Sloot:
When I got the phone call? No, we were... I... we'd actually left already, and we were going to the car to go to another casino, and that's when we got that phone call.

Interviewer:
Where were you planning to go?

Joran van der Sloot:
We were planning to go to, in town, the Excelsior casino there. Or not the Excelsior... the Crystal (ph) casino there.
