Another hearing is scheduled today for the three suspects in the disappearance case of Clinton native Natalee Holloway. The hearing will decide if the men will stay in jail while authorities investigate new evidence in the case. 20-year-old Joran van der Sloot, Satish and Deepak Kalpoe were re-arrested on Sunday on suspicion of involvement with Holloway's death. Authorities claim there is new evidence that warrants keeping the men behind bars. The men were the last people known to see 18-year-old Holloway alive before she vanished on May 30th, 2005 while on a graduation trip in Aruba. However, defense attorneys believe the three will be released soon, saying the new evidence is based mainly on misunderstandings of language in the suspects' conversations. Holloway attended junior high in Clinton, Mississippi, and her father still lives in Meridian. |
