Tomorrow night - Wednesday - Beth Holloway joins us for the full hour (assuming no breaking news.) Beth traveled to Aruba with our show this past weekend — our idea - and we shot lots of video which we intend to show tomorrow night when Beth joins the show. The video will look like I shot it - meaning not professional - since the Aruban government seized our crew’s cameras as they entered the country
(and frankly did not help solve the problem in the least and even used an expletive to our producer when we asked to try and fix the problem.) We used our own personal handy cams to shoot the video. (Actually it will look a lot better than if I shot it since while the cameras and audio are not great, I did have great and professional cameramen!) I have no idea what the show will look like - I don’t even know what the video looks like since the tapes went directly to NYC from Aruba (and I returned to DC.) Why did we go this past weekend? Because Beth has a new book out and we, not Beth, thought it would be a good time, to revisit the story. Beth was not enthusiastic about going back to Aruba since some, not all, have made it very uncomfortable for her to be there. She gets blamed by many for the bad p/r the country has endured — you would think the bad p/r blame would be leveled at those (police and prosecutor) who failed to get answers….or those who have done something to Natalee…or those who have information and won’t come forward. This story will end when there are some answers…otherwise it will linger. If Arbuba wants Beth and the story to go away….answers will do it ….whatever they may be.
By the way….here is a snapshot of Beth’s new book….I grabbed it from Amazon.com. Believe it or not, I have not yet gotten a copy of the book. The book has not been available to me despite the fact that the publisher is owned by the same corporation that owns Fox News Channel…yes, go figure! I think any parent would do what he / she thought best to find out what happened or to get justice. Each parent does it his or her way. I don’t think there is a blue print on how best to do it…nor is their a manual. I do know they are driven by their hearts. As soon as a parent gets justice, the parent can move on…until then the pain remains immense and there is no healing. Ask Fred Goldman …Sharon Rocha….or even some other lesser known parent with a missing or murdered child about the pain..they will each tell you. I have spent lots of time with parents whose children have been murdered …some you know, some you do not. When Beth gets answers, she will stop. Beth has gotten the run-around from the Aruban police. I don’t know what happened to her daughter - but I do know that the lack of answers and the run-around is very painful.
