One of the more unusual events in this case, of which there have been many, was the 6:30 A.M, June 17, 2005 arrest of Steve Gregory Croes, party boat disc jockey. It is not the policy of Aruban justice to release the name of one detained, but news sources quickly found out and this newly arrested man became a new name attached to the case within hours. Authorities were giving no information of how Steve Croes was related to this case. It was unconfirmed at this time which one of the three, Joran, Deepak or Satish, Croes was even friends with.
Speculation was, that he knew Deepak from the Internet Cafe where they both frequented. This 26 year old young man was employed at the time aboard the Tattoo cruise ship. Marcus Williams, Croes' boss will tell CNN that this boat does not normally go out on Sunday nights and even if it does it is always docked by midnight. This party boat is located about 300 meters, from the Holiday Inn, where Holloway was staying.
The Tattoo party boat, is a 110 foot catamaran, that normally leaves the pier in front of the Aruba Grand Hotel. The normal departure time is 8 P.M. with a return around midnight. The boat does not normally go out on Sundays, unless a special party is booked.
